Who We Are
San Diego Psychology Center is a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians -- including a Psychiatrist, a Psychologist & Psychoanalyst, a Marriage and Family Therapist and a variety of clinicians in training. We believe that a person’s needs are individual and personal, so we take special care to identify, evaluate, and assess before preparing a treatment plan. To further individualize our services, we offer multicultural and multilingual assessments and treatment.
Working with Adults
SDPC also provides psychological and psychiatric evaluations for adults. We specialize in helping adults suffering from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, learning and attention difficulties, and personality disorders. We are skilled in assisting adults with communication, inter-personal relationship, and social difficulties, among others.
Working with Children
Child development is a complicated process involving a series of intertwined stages. If a child does not accomplish skills at one particular stage, s/he may struggle growing into and developing the next one. Children can have many responses to this struggle and sometimes therapy is an appropriate route for parents to help their children through this challenging time.
Qualified professionals at SDPC assess children thoroughly in social, emotional, and cognitive domains. Through child's play, individual, group, and family therapy, as well as consultations with teachers and other care providers, we create a treatment plan based on the child’s developmental needs.
The results of our assessments give us the information needed to provide the treatment and/or parent training that is indicated to ensure that typical development is not disrupted for the child.
Working with Families
Often, an individual's difficulty dealing with life transitoins, trauma and relationships, isues of shame, and identity can impact the family as a whole. When family therapy is appropriate and possible, both the individual and the family unit can benefit from this comprehensive approach.
